Limestone is a sedimentary rock, which its basic element is calcite (CaCO3). Often, it contains fossils, from which can be estimated its age and its origin. The metamorphosis of limestone gives to the stone a more crystal character forming the marble. The basic element of limestone, has a white colour, and this is the reason that limestones are usually white or light grey. According to its admixtures though, it can be found in almost all colours, more often dark grey and reddish. Limestone is appropriate for use in external site applications, coverings, pavements etc.
